Driving From Heathrow Airport On The M25

The M25 motorway is the ‘London Orbital’ which basically encircles Greater London and stretches 117 miles in length round the capital.  It is also one of the world’s longest
Orbitals and due to the amount of traffic that uses it daily, the M25 is also one of the busiest. When driving from Heathrow airport on the M25, you can reach a great number of different places such as: Watford, Potters Bar, Romford, Enfield, Dartford, Sevenoaks, Swanley, Leatherhead, Epsom, Woking and many more towns, boroughs and villages that are situated within the M25 or close by.

You will often hear people refer to the M25 as ‘Clockwise’ and ‘Anticlockwise’, this is simply the direction you need to travel. For example, if you ask for directions to the town you wish to drive to, you may be told to “take the M25 clockwise”.

The M25 is a busy stretch of motorway and can get very congested, especially at rush hour. Even during the day, the traffic on the motorway can become heavy and large queues can be common.

Live Traffic Cameras M25

There are live traffic cameras in operation on the M25 and the speed restrictions on these cameras can vary. If you see a red circle with a number in the centre, that is the speed you must drive your vehicle.  There are live traffic cameras mounted in the gantries above the motorway and these cameras will flash if you exceed the speed limit and you will receive a speeding ticket.
